Best and Worst Drivers in the US for 2018: QuoteWizard Study Ranks Nation’s 75 Most Populous Metro Areas

SEATTLE--()--With jam-packed roads associated with the summer travel season now upon us, QuoteWizard (https://quotewizard.com), an online insurance comparison marketplace, today released a proprietary study ranking the best and worst drivers in the nation, covering the country’s 75 most populous metropolitan areas.

From worst to best, here are the rankings of drivers in all 75 cities, along with the full study: https://quotewizard.com/news/posts/the-best-and-worst-drivers-by-city-2018. Among its findings, QuoteWizard found that the nation’s best drivers are in Orlando, Miami, El Paso, Detroit, and Little Rock, while the worst driving cities are Omaha, Riverside, Sacramento, Columbus, and the Bay Area.

"Most people think America's worst drivers are the ones who live in their city," says Adam Johnson, QuoteWizard content manager. "But that's not always the case. We analyzed millions of data points on drivers throughout the US and what we found provides an interesting and sometimes surprising snapshot of the best and worst drivers in America.”

Methodology

QuoteWizard sampled incident data (with more than one million data points) from drivers who used its services. To quantify overall driver quality for comparison, we weighted incident counts for each city with its frequency. The final rankings are a sum of weighted means calculated from total accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs, and citations.
