Sunrise Senior Living Communities Selected for 2018 Bronze National Quality Award

MCLEAN, Va.--()--Sunrise Senior Living today announced that 34 of its communities were recently selected to receive the 2018 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The award is part of AHCA/NCAL’s National Quality Award Program, which honors long-term and post-acute communities across the nation that have demonstrated their dedication to improving the lives of residents through consistent, quality care.

A total of 139 Sunrise communities have now earned the Bronze Award – more than any other assisted living provider. Visit Sunrise’s National Quality Award page for a full listing of the company’s recipients over the last four years, including 20 communities that have earned the Silver Award.

“We celebrate this achievement, which recognizes Sunrise’s ongoing commitment to strive to provide families high-quality, personalized care and service,” said Sue Coppola, chief clinical officer for Sunrise. “Our industry-leading approach includes a comprehensive system focused on promoting the overall wellness of residents, supported by compassionate team members who are dedicated to a continuous improvement journey.”

Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award program centers on the core values and criteria of the nationally recognized Baldridge Performance Excellence Program. The program includes three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Trained examiners review each member application to determine if the center has met the criteria.

The Bronze-level award recognizes the community’s commitment to striving for quality improvement through a systematic approach, while demonstrating an ability to implement a performance-improvement system. This will provide a strong foundation for the second step, which is the Silver – Achievement in Quality.

All 2018 National Quality Award recipients will be honored during AHCA/NCAL’s Annual Convention & Exposition, October 7-10, 2018, in San Diego, CA.
