LegalShield Chief Technology Officer Jack Goldenberg Brings Security Experience to Conference of Western Attorneys General Cyber Security Working Group

ADA, Okla.--()--LegalShield, one of North America’s leading providers of affordable legal plans and the IDShield identity theft solution for individuals, families and small businesses, announced that Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Jack Goldenberg joined the Cyber Security Working Group which is a by-invitation-only panel of industry leaders at the Conference of Western Attorneys. Utah’s Attorney General Sean Reyes and Idaho’s Attorney General Lawrence Wasden led the roundtable discussion, which took place in Scottsdale, Arizona on May 2. This working group consists of a handful of Attorneys General, senior staff from the Office of the Attorneys General and private industry executives.

“With so few areas untouched by the information age, almost everything Americans do and everything we depend on involves data, our private information, and the technology that uses them,” said Goldenberg. “We are thrilled to join the Cyber Security Working Group because, as a leader in identity theft solutions, LegalShield understands the value of getting the views of officials dealing first-hand with the legal consequences of such phenomena as data breaches. Their input helps us address and mitigate these threats head-on.

“In the wake of the Equifax breach and the most recent Facebook debacle, it is not only topical but incredibly important to have an open, productive dialogue around combatting forces arrayed against data security,” added Goldenberg. “Because of the massive gap in privacy and data security standards, at LegalShield we welcome the opportunity to play our part in protecting the privacy of the public.”

The Conference of Western Attorneys General is a bipartisan group whose primary function is to provide a forum for chief legal officers of member states and jurisdictions to cultivate knowledge, cooperate on concerns and coordinate actions that improve the quality of legal services. The panel met the day before the commencement of the annual 2018 CWAG Chair Initiative. Discussions focused on privacy, cybersecurity and digital piracy.
