Athlete Network provides Ryder with access to more than 500 university athletic departments and enables the Company to network with current and former student athletes throughout the country.

“The discipline and leadership skills that college athletes demonstrate translate well into Ryder’s team-oriented business,” said Rich Mohr, Rental Operations Vice President and Global Product Manager, Ryder. “A prime example of this is Ryder’s senior executive Tom Havens, who is featured on the Athlete Network website as an athlete influencer. After a successful college baseball career and two summers playing minor league baseball in the Oakland A’s organization, Tom joined Ryder as a Rental Representative. Over the course of a 25-year Ryder career, he held positions of increasing responsibility, leading to his current role as Senior Vice President and Global Chief of Operations for Ryder’s largest business segment, Fleet Management Solutions.”

Ryder’s Management Training program focuses on developing skills for early career, high potential employees and positions them for expedited career growth within the Company’s Rental and FMS operations segments. Trainees quickly contribute to the top and bottom lines of their assigned location while gaining valuable insight in the areas of sales, customer service, operations, and finance. Employees have the opportunity to explore a variety of internal career options upon completion of the 18-24 month program, including possible relocation to a city of their choosing based on business needs.

Additionally, Ryder has a focus on recruiting more women to the industry, specifically veterans. The Company’s Women Veterans Task Force, a panel consisting of women in managerial or supervisorial roles at Ryder who are military veterans, also serves as brand ambassadors and positive voices in the veteran community. Ryder also donates to the Women In Trucking (WIT) Foundation, affiliated with the non-profit organization Women In Trucking Association, Inc., as part of the Company’s giving strategy to support expertise. The donations are meant to help educate the next generation of women transportation professionals by providing student scholarships.
