South Florida Leaders Launch TiE Miami to Promote Entrepreneurship

MIAMI--()--Leaders of the South Florida entrepreneurial eco-system announced the launch of the Miami Chapter of TiE, a global organization which fosters entrepreneurship, at eMerge Americas 2018. TiE Miami will serve the vibrant communities in the three counties of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.

TiE is a global not for profit organization with 63 chapters in 17 countries. It is estimated that globally stakeholders of TiE have created over $200 billion in wealth.

Speaking on the launching of TiE Miami, Ms. Seema Chaturvedi, President & Charter Member of TiE Miami, prior TiE Global Board member, founder of Accelerator Group LLC, noted, “Miami has talent, ideas, enterprise and diversity. Through TiE Miami, we hope to contribute to Miami’s entrepreneurial eco-system while also connecting it to TiE’s global network of entrepreneurs.”

Anil Gajwani, founding Charter Member, successful Miami entrepreneur, noted, “TiE brings to bear a slew of resources. The key aspect however is mentorship. Having someone next to you who is a sounding board can turn out to be a tremendously valuable resource. I am thrilled to see TiE come to Miami.”

A founding Charter Member of TiE Miami, Michael A. Finney, President & CEO of Miami-Dade Beacon Council stated, “I have known and worked with TiE entrepreneurs for over a decade. They bring a valuable global network and significant mentoring resources that can greatly impact a community’s economic development.”

Welcoming the announcement of TiE Miami’s launch, founding Charter Member, prolific serial entrepreneur, Mr. Manuel Medina, Cyxtera Technologies, commented, “Miami has a burgeoning tech scene with a lot of innovation. Having close ties with India and a prestigious group of entrepreneurs is exactly what we were looking for in Miami.”

With its launch, TiE Miami announced initiation of enrollment of its first mentoring cohort of 15 aspiring or early stage entrepreneur ‘mentees.’ The mentoring sessions will launch on June 1, 2018. Over the next 4 months, established mentors/Charter Member will provide guidance and real-world advice.
