San Francisco Chronicle Writers to Ride Every Muni Line in a Day, Reprising Larry Baer’s 1980 Feat

--()--San Francisco Chronicle:

Who:

Peter Hartlaub, Pop Culture Critic for the San Francisco Chronicle

Heather Knight, Columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle

Larry Baer, President and CEO, San Francisco Giants

What:

San Francisco Chronicle’s Peter Hartlaub and Heather Knight will attempt to ride every San Francisco Muni line in a day. Giants President and CEO Larry Baer, who accomplished the feat as a recent UC Berkeley graduate in 1980, will join the duo for part of the journey as well.

Lou Seal, Giants Mascot, will join Peter, Heather and Larry as they board the F-train in front of the Ferry Building at 8:30 a.m. They welcome the public to come say hello along their journey, but advise they cannot take part for the whole day due to large crowds on Muni.

Follow their journey on Twitter via the hashtag #TotalMuni2018.

Why:

In February, Peter and Heather struck up the idea of riding every Muni line in one day and now they are putting that idea into action. The day-long event was inspired by Heather’s 4-year-old son, who like a surprising number of San Franciscans, adores Muni.

When:

April 30, 2018, starting at 3:00 a.m.!

Where:

San Francisco, California Muni System. They will begin their journey at 3:00 a.m. PDT to catch the 25-Treasure Island into the city. From there they will make their way through all corners of the city and end on the N-Judah at AT&T Park for a Giants-Padres game.
