CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--USG Corporation (NYSE:USG), an industry-leading manufacturer of building products and innovative solutions, is pleased to announce that Scott Qualls, director of sales and marketing for its Ceilings division, was recognized by the Ceilings & Interior Systems Construction Association (CISCA) as its 2018 DeGelleke Award winner. The DeGelleke Award is CISCA’s highest honor and is presented to a CISCA member who has made significant contributions to the industry and the association.
The award selection committee consists of the current CISCA president and two most recent presidents, who identify an individual who has made significant contributions to CISCA and the industry. The DeGelleke Award has been granted to 58 distinguished industry professionals since its inception in 1960.

Qualls has more than 40 years of experience in the ceilings industry, including nearly 15 years with USG. During his tenure at USG, he has helped drive excellence in product management and architectural sales, including improving ceilings specifications and broadening the company’s customer base to include key groups that influence the division’s success. Qualls was also involved with the company’s recent acquisition of Ceilings Plus, and plays an integral role in elevating USG’s response to emerging industry trends like sustainability, acoustics and ceilings technologies.
In addition to his accomplishments at USG, Qualls has been deeply involved with CISCA for more than a decade through various leadership and advisory roles for its board. He helped establish two committees for the association that focus on the roles of sustainability and marketing in the ceilings business.
