Health IT Start-up HealthTech Solutions Co-founder and Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree to Discuss Successful Innovation Pitch Hacks at HIMSS18 Conference in Las Vegas

CORALVILLE, Iowa--()--Dalton Shaull, Co-Founder and CEO of emerging health-IT startup HealthTech Solutions Inc. (HTS), will be lending his experiences – both personal and professional - to start-up entrepreneurs at HIMSS18’s Innovation Pitch Competition – Learn from the Winners Discussion Panel on March 7 at 2:30 p.m. in Las Vegas (Venetian Convention Center – Palazzo L). HTS is a secure communications technology provider focused on providing solutions in organ transplantation with its TXP ChatTM app.

Shaull, a former football player at the University of Iowa, suffered from a near-fatal motorcycle accident that ignited his passion for the field of organ and tissue transplantation. “It was a real challenge, spiritually, physically and emotionally. Fortunately, I was a candidate for an experimental nerve transplant. Four months after the transplant, I began to get twitches and sensation back in my arm, and the recovery since then has been remarkable. This experience has served as the source of my passion, and as a transplant recipient myself, I am determined to advance the industry and recreate that miracle for as many people as possible.”

Shaull and co-founder Eric Pahl, founded HealthTech Solutions in 2016 and pioneered TXP ChatTM, which landed the Founders on Forbes 30 Under 30 (class of 2018), calling their technology a “game-changing innovation.” TXP Chat™ is a HIPAA compliant secure app that connects organ procurement centers with transplant centers, clinicians and coordinators in real time to facilitate fast and efficient transplant communication.

Currently, the organ procurement process is highly inefficient and fragmented which results in over 50 percent of donated organs being discarded, leaving over 122,000 people in the US alone waiting years to receive a transplant; meanwhile, 22 patients die each day waiting for their life-saving organ. The founders believe that their software could deliver a meaningful role in fixing the current broken supply chain of donated organs and tissues - benefitting thousands of lives and saving the healthcare system billions of dollars as a result.

Since launching TXP ChatTM last year, the company's technology has helped facilitate hundreds of organ transplants across the US. In 2017 the company also received a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant to support development of new product features and expanded capabilities. Most recently, in early 2018, HTS successfully over-subscribed a private equity financing to support its continued growth. The funds raised will be used to expand the leadership team and workforce, to accelerate commercialization of the company’s current technology, and to support continued innovation with the next generation of TXP Chat™ which includes Artificial Intelligence (AI) machine learning capabilities to provide decision support to transplant clinicians that are reviewing organ offers.

HTS will demonstrate the TXP ChatTM platform in HIMSS’ Start Up Showcase at booth 9900-61.
