Ron Huibers Recognized as an NACD Governance Fellow

CHESAPEAKE, Va.--()--The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) recently recognized Ron Huibers, president of Volvo Penta of the Americas, as an NACD Governance Fellow.

As the highest standard of credentialing for directors and governance professionals, NACD Fellowship is a comprehensive and continuous program of study that empowers Fellows with the latest insights, intelligence, and leading boardroom practices. The NACD identifies, interprets and delivers insights on critical issues that shape board agendas and through actionable resources; the organization is enhancing directors’ abilities to fulfill their roles in strengthening the value of the enterprise.

As president of Volvo Penta of the Americas, Huibers is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the company’s operations throughout North, Central and South America covering marine and industrial markets. Huibers has completed executive programs at Harvard, IMD in Switzerland, and McGill and Queen’s University in Canada, and also holds a bachelor’s degree in business economics from Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. He is currently a board member of the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), chairman and board member of Seven Marine, and has held a number of prior board and senior roles within Volvo Group, including Mack Trucks, Volvo Financial Services, Volvo Construction Equipment and United Way.
