RADNOR, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lincoln Financial Group today expanded its suite of protection-focused life insurance offerings, introducing Lincoln WealthPreserve® Indexed Universal Life (IUL).
Lincoln WealthPreserve IUL offers affordable death benefit protection, providing beneficiaries the financial security of an asset that transfers to them income tax-free, while providing the flexibility to meet life’s changing needs.
“IUL policies are seeing strong interest among consumers, because of their unique ability to capture upside performance with downside protection,” said Stafford Thompson, Jr., Senior Vice President of Life Product Management, Lincoln Financial Group. “We believe IUL is an underutilized asset to address a client’s wealth transfer and death benefit protection needs. The addition of WealthPreserve IUL to our product suite, combined with our industry-leading variable life product and LifeGuarantee® Universal Life solutions, offers clients a broad range of protection options to choose from to meet their specific needs and goals.”
Lincoln WealthPreserve IUL also offers tax-deferred cash growth potential, through the policy’s one-year point-to-point capped index account tied to the performance of the S&P 500 Index1, that can be accessed tax-efficiently as a source of supplemental income for retirement or other needs2. It provides a guaranteed one percent minimum interest rate, meaning even in a declining market, policy owners will experience a positive return3, and in the first ten years of the policy, the growth cap is guaranteed to be no less than 8.75 percent.
“In financial planning, protecting family assets continues to increase in importance, and life insurance can play a critical role in meeting those needs as part of a well-rounded financial portfolio,” said Andy Bucklee, Senior Vice President of Insurance Solutions Distribution, Lincoln Financial Distributors. “However, there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution, which is why Lincoln provides its advisors a diverse portfolio of protection products, to ensure they can offer their clients the best option for themselves and their families.”
Lincoln WealthPreserve IUL is available with the new Lincoln LifeAssureSM Accelerated Benefits Rider (ABR), also introduced today. The LifeAssure ABR is offered at no upfront cost, providing access to the death benefit as a source of supplemental funds in the event of permanent chronic or terminal illness.
Enhanced Customer Experience
To enhance the customer experience, Lincoln WealthPreserve IUL, along with other fixed and term products, offers a telephone application (Tele-App) process that allows clients to submit a brief paper or electronic questionnaire (e-ticket) with basic information and then complete a simple phone interview with Lincoln at a time convenient for their schedules. As part of the Tele-App process, underwriting labs can be waived for qualifying clients.
