Saladino v Los Angeles County et al, LA Superior Court Case No. BC 627232.

LOS ANGELES--()--On Jan 23, 2018, the Los Angeles Superior Court, Judge Joanne O'Donnell presiding in Department 28, granted summary judgment in favor of the County of Los Angeles and its Board of Supervisors dismissing a lawsuit brought by the County's former chief lawyer, Mark Saladino. After he was removed from his position as County Counsel, Mr. Saladino brought suit for wrongful termination, infliction of emotional distress and breach of contract. In granting summary judgment, the Court enforced the release Mr. Saladino signed after his removal and also rejected on the merits his claims for wrongful termination, breach of contract and infliction of emotional distress.

"What happened here," according to the County's lawyer Skip Miller of Miller Barondess, LLP in Los Angeles, "is that the Board of Supervisors lost confidence in Mr. Saladino and decided to remove him as County Counsel. That is a client's right. We always thought this lawsuit was sour grapes and appreciate the Court's decision." Copies of the Court's decisions are attached.
