SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.V.--()--After 44 years of service with Jefferson Security Bank, Dennis Barron will retire on December 29, 2017. Barron began his career at JSB as a teller/bookkeeper in 1973 and retires as an Executive Vice President & the Chief Operations Officer of JSB.

“You cannot replace someone like Denny Barron.” said Jefferson Security Bank CEO, Cindy Kitner. “For so many years, Denny has been the face of JSB and an integral member of our team. His leadership at the bank and throughout the community has influenced so many lives for the better.”

Barron will join the Board of Directors of Jefferson Security Bank beginning in 2018. This appointment marks the first time a former employee has been appointed to the Board of Directors.

“Denny will be a great asset to the board,” said Board Chair, Frederick Parsons. “His years of experience with the bank and time spent with our customers will bring an incredible amount of knowledge.”

Barron has received countless awards and recognition for his volunteer work and community leadership including 1989 Jefferson County Citizen of the Year, 1991 Shepherdstown High School Outstanding Alumni, West Virginia 4-H Hall of Fame, Shepherd College outstanding Alumnus Professional Award, Shepherdstown Rotary Paul Harris Award, Excellence in Community Service Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Jefferson County Distinguished Citizen Award from the Shenandoah Area Council Boy Scouts of America.

Barron has been a member of the Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department serving as the Treasurer for 28 years, Entertainment Chair for the Jefferson County Fair since 1975 and continues to be actively involved in the local 4-H and Camping Programs. He has served on countless boards and committees for the betterment of local causes and organizations.

Denny lives in Shepherdstown, WV. He is a 1973 graduate of Shepherd College (cum laude) with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics.
