LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bob Hope USO, an independent Southern Californian non-profit invited 150 military service members to a private screening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi during opening night, along with the film’s director Rian Johnson. The once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was made possible through the efforts of Westfield at Los Angeles International Airports, Westfield Century City and AMC Century 15.
The special event opened in Westfield Century City’s newly renovated atrium where service members were greeted by Bob Hope USO with a red carpet experience and photo opportunities. They then were invited to a reserved theater at AMC Century 15 for a private screening, with introductory remarks by Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, who attended the event.
“We are dedicated to lifting the spirits of the troops and their families,” said Bob Kurkjian, executive director of the Bob Hope USO. “It is thrilling when the community comes together like this to create such an amazing experience for our service members. We know that the troops had a great time this evening and are very grateful to Westfield at Los Angeles International Airports, Westfield Century City, AMC Century 15, and to Mr. Johnson for all that they’ve done to make this possible.”
