HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Welty Building Company Ltd., proven partners in comprehensive construction services and management, appointed Freddie Bustillo as Vice President of Business Development, Rick Brown as Senior Superintendent, and James Mitchell as Senior Project Manager of its Houston office. The new appointments bring proven track records in innovation and client-focused project management to Welty Construction as the company continues to expand its Houston footprint. Recent awards include the renovation of a healthcare facility in Houston, the build out of a science lab in College Station.

In his new position as Vice President, Mr. Bustillo will be responsible for Business Development and strategic growth for the Houston and Texas market. Bustillo comes to Welty from Gilbane Building Company, where he served as Vice President. The variety of positions he has held over his 36-year career have given him a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the construction process. Freddie has been a proven leader on construction projects across a wide spectrum of markets, including Higher Education, Healthcare, K-12, Aviation, Criminal Justice, General Public, and Private Development.
As Senior Superintendent, Rick Brown will be responsible for executing Welty’s Lean practices in the field along with scheduling trade partners and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects, as well as overseeing inspections, quality control, and job site safety. Brown comes to Welty recently from Hunt Construction and had a longer career of 13 years with Balfour Beatty, where he served as a senior superintendent. Rick brings 20 years of construction management experience with a specialty in healthcare construction. He is skilled at mentoring new superintendents, managing project schedules and streamlining workflow. Rick’s dedication to safety, Lean project delivery and risk management makes him a valuable addition to the Welty team.
As Senior Project Manager, James Mitchell will be working closely with customers to oversee and manage projects from various market segments. He will lead onsite project teams to implement the Lean process to eliminate waste and bring value to the clients Welty serves. Mitchell comes to Welty from Gilbane Building Company where he was a senior project manager. James is an experienced project manager with comprehensive experience in construction planning, development, contract administration, and operations management. James brings a breadth of experience on matters effecting safety, quality assurance, scheduling, cost, procurement, planning, and personnel. A few of his awards include an APEX Award and an ABC Excellence in Construction award.
