Seventh Annual MedtechVision Conference to Focus on “Evolution of Medtech”

Recipient of Third Annual Ferolyn Powell Leadership Award to be Presented

MENLO PARK, Calif.--()--MedtechWomen today announced speakers for the organization’s MedtechVision 2017 conference, which will focus on the theme of “Evolution of Medtech.” The sold-out conference will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at the Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, Calif.

“This year’s theme, the Evolution of Medtech, will examine a sector whose historical model has been challenged by powerful trends in recent years,” said Amy Belt Raimundo, co-founder of MedtechWomen and managing director of Kaiser Permanente Ventures. “We are excited to bring together leaders in our field to discuss how advancing technology, industry convergence and new players leveraging data, connectivity and partnerships can create significant new opportunities for the medtech industry.”

MedtechVision 2017 will feature an opening keynote from Dr. Sarah Kimball, a physician and advocate for Type 1 diabetes care whose experiences with DIY automated insulin delivery were foundational for startup Bigfoot Biomedical. Deborah DiSanzo, General Manager of IBM Watson Health, will close the conference with a keynote discussing the rapidly changing healthcare landscape and the opportunity to use data analytics technology to develop innovative solutions across the industry.

In addition, the event will host more than a dozen distinguished panelists and speakers including executives from Medtronic Neurovascular, Kaiser Permanente, Microsoft, Experien Group, Ruckus Partners, Acessa Health Inc., Teleflex, Endologix, Walgreens Women in Technology (WIT), Siemens Healthineers, ForSight Labs, Intersect ENT, Evidation Health, Intel Corporation, Kinsa, Outset Medical, Hometeam, and Maven.

The conference organizers will also present this years’ winner of the Ferolyn Powell Leadership Award. Established in 2015, the award recognizes a leader who embodies persistence, passion, dedication to innovation and patients, and commitment to mentoring others in our field.
