NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BELLEROPHON PUBLICATIONS, INC., publisher of Metropolis magazine, announces changes in senior management roles and titles, reflecting the company’s strategic approach in our increasingly robust multi-media platform, said President Eugenie C. Havemeyer.
As previously announced, Susan S. Szenasy becomes Director of Design Innovation. In addition to Metropolis’s unique Think Tank programs, Susan will initiate and participate in more Metropolis events and provocative discussions.
Paul Makovsky moves to the new position of Vice President of Design. For 17 years, and since 2014 as Editorial and Brand Director, Paul has identified the new and most impactful design trends, innovations and talents. Integral to our editorial team, he can now focus on connecting with design leaders and brands worldwide for the print magazine, our digital properties and events. “Paul’s outreach keeps Metropolis readers and events in the vanguard, learning about new design thinking at all scales and achieving a deeper understanding of what is important in design and architecture,” says Havemeyer.
Avinash Rajagopal, who joined Metropolis in 2011, moves from Senior Editor to Editor-in-Chief. Avi graduated from the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India, with a Diploma in Industrial Design, in 2007 and was Adjunct Faculty until 2009. In 2011, he received his MFA in Design Criticism from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City. With his global perspective on design history, criticism, and writing, he has been invited to lecture at SVA and the University of Texas at Austin, and has contributed to several books and exhibition catalogs. Through his thoughtful leadership, writings, and involvement with events at Metropolis, he is a highly respected, trusted member of the architecture and design community. “As Editor-in-Chief, Avi builds on the 36-year legacy of Metropolis and its relevance,“ said Havemeyer.
She concluded: “These are very exciting times at Metropolis with our newly designed website and rapidly growing events and programs. These leadership changes provide opportunities as publishing becomes even more multi faceted.”
