ANCHORAGE, Alaska--(BUSINESS WIRE)--International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that Joan M. Travostino has joined the Firm’s Real Estate and Land Use Group in Anchorage, Alaska, as a Partner.
Ms. Travostino practices primarily in the areas of real estate, commercial transactions and finance. Her experience in real estate includes representing sellers and buyers of real estate and advising on commercial building leases. Her participation in commercial transactions includes representing buyers and sellers of businesses and separate assets within businesses and raising private capital. Her work in finance includes representing lenders in real estate financing and work outs of prior financing transactions and lenders’ issues with the personal property offered in non-real estate commercial financing. Related to her real estate and commercial transaction experience, she has extensive experience with hard rock mining projects. She has also worked on transactions in the fishing industry.
Ms. Travostino joins Dorsey from the K&L Gates law firm, where she was a partner. Before joining K&L Gates in 1987, Ms. Travostino served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alaska and was in private practice.
Ms. Travostino has a B.A. degree from William Jewell College and a J.D. degree from Stanford Law School. After graduating from law school, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Roger G. Conner of the Alaska Supreme Court.
