PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Legends of the Philadelphia music scene, Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Bobby Rydell will bring memories of poodle skirts, saddle shoes and pompadours to The Event Center stage at SugarHouse Casino on Friday, July 21 at 9 p.m. The biggest teen idols of the ’50s and ’60s are now known as the Golden Boys and have now entertained their fans for more than 30 years. Tickets for the performance go on sale Friday, May 5 and cost $65—$85.
The show is a collaboration of talent and performances, featuring a tribute to fellow music greats of the era including Elvis Presley, Bobby Darin, Rick Nelson and Bill Haley. Longtime fans will reminisce when each Golden Boy takes the spotlight to sing his own all-time greatest hits including, “Venus” and “De De Dinah” (Avalon); “Turn Me Loose” and “Tiger” (Fabian); and “Volare,” “Wild One” and “Kissin’ Time” (Rydell).
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, the three Golden Boys return home for this Event Center performance, playing to long-time fans and introducing new generations to the appeal of the ’50s era. In fact, the Golden Boys haven’t stopped since their heyday, as is evident from their numerous television appearances, a performance for the U.S. president and a PBS special.
United by producer Dick Fox, Avalon, Fabian and Rydell have entertained fans for three generations, all while retaining the same talent and personal appeal that catapulted them to national fame. Each Golden Boy has achieved individual success, with Avalon and Fabian both earning more than 30 film credits, including Avalon’s iconic “Beach Party” film series with Annette Funicello, and Rydell performing for audiences in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
