NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Overall exports of Vinho Verde wines to the U.S. continue to grow at a steady clip, up +37% in value, over the two year period – 2014 to 2016, and +15% in volume over that same period*. This growth reinforces the American market as the #1 market by value for these wines, globally.
High demand for the region’s quality driven, single varietal wines is the driving force behind the double-digit growth. As new distribution channels open up for the Vinho Verde category, wines from indigenous grapes like Alvarinho, Loureiro, and Espadeiro are finding their way onto store shelves and wine lists in key markets across the country.

The CVRVV will host a consumer wine event in New York City this June, and welcome all wine lovers to join them.
