Scott Broder Joins Witkoff as Senior Vice President; Strengthens Executive Team

- Former lodging REIT professional will oversee both future and current hotel investments -

NEW YORK--()--Witkoff (the “Company”), a global real estate development and investment firm, today announced a strategic addition to its executive team with the hiring of lodging professional Scott Broder as Senior Vice President – Head of Hotel Investments, effective immediately. Mr. Broder will oversee both future and current hotel investments for the firm.

“Scott’s proven track record, which includes overseeing more than $1.5 billion of transactions has allowed him to establish himself as a rising star in this profession and we are pleased he is joining us,” said Steve Witkoff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Witkoff. “We look forward to pairing Scott’s impressive attributes with our solid platform and resources to further grow the number of assets in our hotel portfolio.”

Prior to joining Witkoff, Mr. Broder was the Director of Acquisitions at Sunstone Hotel Investors (“Sunstone”), a ~$5 billion total enterprise value publicly traded REIT (NYSE: SHO). At Sunstone, he was involved in more than $1.5 billion of transactions, including the acquisitions of Boston Park Plaza, Hyatt Regency San Francisco and the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. Mr. Broder also honed his skills in the asset management group at Sunstone, which oversaw more than 30 hotels, valued at over $5 billion. During his time in asset management, he was responsible for developing the Sunstone Energy Efficiency Program, which reduced utility expenses substantially across the portfolio.
