LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--At the IWCE Exhibition in Las Vegas Nevada, CellAntenna announced its newest product, the CA-UPS-NFPA, an essential battery backup solution for public safety distributed antennas systems (DAS) that meets the newest National Fire Protection Association requirements. The CA-UPS-NFPA provides 12 to 96 hours or more of emergency backup power to allow the continuous use of booster/repeater systems allowing police and fire radio systems to operate inside buildings when power outages occur.
NFPA requirements adopted by state and local authorities as well as most fire marshals around the country require building owners to supply public safety boosters to guarantee signal coverage of police and fire radios inside buildings. As an essential requirement, the system must be connected to an emergency backup power system to maintain at least 12 hours to 48 hours of capability, depending on the local building code requirements. Most UPS systems cannot provide the required power and do not have the NFPA required alarms in place to allow the system to pass inspection. The CA-UPS-NFPA has all required NFPA alarm conditions and can be easily patched into any fire alarm system.
