Centra Successfully Completes Final PQRS Submission Using CitiusTech’s BI-Clinical Platform

PRINCETON, N.J.--()--Centra Health, a leading nonprofit healthcare system in the U.S., today announced its successful completion of the 2016 Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO) data submission for its providers using a CMS-certified registry option.

Centra partnered with CitiusTech, a leading provider of healthcare technology services and solutions, to leverage its ONC-certified healthcare business intelligence (BI) and analytics platform, BI-Clinical. Centra has multiple specialties, with each using a different electronic health record (EHR) to manage data for its 500,000 patients throughout central and southern Virginia. CitiusTech helped Centra aggregate data from multiple sources and compute the performance rate of its physicians across the organization for PQRS 2016 data submission. CitiusTech also leveraged its expertise in various IBM technologies including Unified Data Model for Healthcare (UDMH), DataStage and PureData for Analytics (PDA) to compute clinical quality measures and generate a PQRS Submission XML file in the CMS specified format, which can be directly submitted to the CMS by any registry.

“Centra IT was presented with a 22-week submission deadline when its Medical Group merged under a single tax ID. Desiring to leverage existing data warehouse and data stores technology, CitiusTech met the timeline and technology needs, completing the work 3 weeks ahead of schedule,” said Ben Clark, Chief Information Officer, Centra.

“Our BI-Clinical platform integrates with IBM’s UDMH and PDA technologies, enabling large health systems to leverage IBM’s strong data management capabilities along with BI-Clinical’s clinical rules engine, extensive library of clinical quality measures and KPIs. With BI-Clinical, we developed a unified clinical quality platform for successful PQRS reporting, which can be extended for MACRA and other regulatory and business reporting requirements,” said Rizwan Koita, Chief Executive Officer, CitiusTech.

BI-Clinical, CitiusTech’s healthcare BI/analytics platform, is a certified platform for both provider organizations (e.g. Meaningful Use, PQRS, MIPS/ MACRA) and payer organizations (e.g. NCQA and HEDIS). BI-Clinical consists of a library of more than 700 pre-built KPIs and is deployed in over 4,800 locations, supporting over 550,000 providers and impacting over 30 million lives.
