TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mark Saturday, Nov. 12th as another milestone in Amy Ruman’s racing career. Her win at Daytona International Speedway catapulted her to the 2016 Trans Am Class Championship for the second consecutive year.
Ruman—driver of the No. 23 McNICHOLS CO. Chevrolet Corvette—also took first place in the TA class at Daytona for the third year in a row. A triumph for Ruman, the race marked Trans Am’s 50th anniversary.
Ruman’s second championship comes on the heels of last year's victory when she became the first woman to win a Trans Am Championship, and one of the few women to win a major motorsports championship.
