SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dropbox today announced Symantec has joined the Dropbox Partner Network. Expanding on an existing partnership, Symantec and Dropbox will support multiple integration initiatives, helping enterprise customers address access management and data protection challenges. In addition to network control interoperability, the agreement includes data loss prevention integration, which will allow joint customers to better monitor and protect sensitive data in Dropbox and across other cloud services.

Dropbox customers can now benefit from Symantec’s market leading Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution coupled with Symantec’s CloudSOC CASB solution (formerly Blue Coat/Elastica) to address the security needs of the cloud generation. This integrated solution provides chief information security officers (CISOs) with visibility and control over all sensitive content that users upload, store, and share via the cloud. In addition, it protects confidential information through all stages of its lifecycle, anywhere and everywhere it travels.
Building a Robust Security Ecosystem in 12 Months
Since launching the Dropbox Partner Network in November 2015, Dropbox has signed partnerships with more than 30 leading security vendors, including Cisco/Cloudlock, HPE, IBM, Microsoft, Okta, Palo Alto Networks, RSA, and VMware AirWatch, among others. In addition, Dropbox began rolling out a series of APIs that enhance the ability to define collaboration and increase data governance—enabling partners and customers to build more solutions with Dropbox. Focused on network control interoperability, the new capabilities aim to help joint enterprise customers gain greater visibility and control over how company information is accessed and shared.
