SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--()--Counsyl, a company that provides DNA testing and genetic counseling services, today announced it has made two new strategic executive hires: Matthew J. Meyer, who will serve as senior vice president, corporate development, and Noah Nasser, who joins Counsyl as vice president, women’s health sales.

Meyer will play a key role in shaping the next chapter for Counsyl as the company evolves into a fully integrated diagnostic firm by pursuing international partnerships and external growth opportunities. Nasser will lead the women’s health sales team and will drive sales growth for Counsyl’s women’s health offerings.

“Matt and Noah will play pivotal roles during our exciting new phase at Counsyl, as we expand further into the clinical space and strengthen our relationships with physicians,” said Ramji Srinivasan, co-founder and CEO of Counsyl. “Their expertise closely aligns with Counsyl’s long-term strategy and goals, and we’re glad to have them on board.”

Meyer joins Counsyl from CareDx, an early pioneer in the molecular diagnostics field, where he served as chief business officer. He has extensive experience working in therapeutics as well as diagnostics in a range of commercial and corporate roles. Meyer is also an attorney who worked at Pfizer and has served as general counsel at Cerimon Pharmaceuticals and Draeger Medical Systems, in addition to commercial roles at Allscripts and Novartis in Switzerland.

Nasser joins Counsyl from diagnostics company Althea, where he commercialized testing for pharmacogenetics. Prior to Althea, Nasser was the global sales leader for Verinata Health, an Illumina company. Before the acquisition of the company by Illumina in 2013, Nasser was Verinata’s vice president of sales and market development.

“I am delighted to be joining Counsyl and look forward to helping the company grow its already impressive stable of testing services through expansion into international markets and the addition of complementary tests to its menu,” said Meyer.

“I’m thrilled to be joining a company that helps reproductive medicine practitioners and patients make important health decisions,” said Nasser. “I am eager to further drive the sales of Counsyl’s women’s health products, and guide the sales team as we continue to expand into clinical markets.”
