Indeed Job Search Now Available in Spanish

Expanded Language Support Helps More People Get Jobs

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Indeed, the world’s number one job site, today announced Spanish language support for job seekers in the U.S., providing Spanish speaking job seekers the same great experience English speakers enjoy.

The U.S. is estimated to be the world’s second largest Spanish-speaking country after Mexico with over 40 million native speakers. Hispanics represented 17 percent of the U.S. labor force in 2015, and are a growing population, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

“Helping people get jobs also means increasing access for more people to our powerful job search tools and offering them a great experience,” said Donald Wysocki, senior product director at Indeed. “Supporting more languages offers benefits to both job seekers and employers looking to expand, diversify or further target their hiring efforts.”

Indeed has previously tracked nearly 1.5 million monthly U.S. job seeker visits originating from Spanish language browsers with the most searches coming from job seekers in Florida, Texas and Puerto Rico. Job searches by title and location as well as job search results filters by salary, type of employment (part-time, full-time, etc.) and company name are all available now in Spanish.

Job ads posted by employers in English will not be translated into Spanish. However, posting bilingual job ads on Indeed can be a hiring advantage. Businesses can also now search Indeed Resume and access Indeed’s publisher program in Spanish.

Job seekers in the U.S. with their browser preferences set to Spanish will be automatically defaulted to the Spanish language site. Indeed also offers a homepage link enabling users to switch between English and Spanish without having to change browser settings.
