REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DataRPM™, the award-winning pioneer of the Cognitive Predictive Maintenance Platform (CPdM) for the Industrial IoT is pleased to announce the addition of Herb Cunitz, the recent President of Hortonworks, to its Board of Directors.
“Herb is a fantastic addition as an independent Member to our Board,” announced Sundeep Sanghavi, DataRPM Cofounder and CEO. “Industry 4.0, aka Industrial IoT, is already enabling the unprecedented collection and comprehensive evaluation of ALL data from connected things in the manufacturing industry. It’s time for this data to deliver real value. Herb’s deep breadth of experience in the Big Data space and Industrial IoT along with an exemplary track record in building high-growth teams will be instrumental in the new phase of hyper-growth that DataRPM is experiencing.”
DataRPM’s CPdM (Cognitive Predictive Maintenance) Platform helps asset-intensive industries unlock competitive advantages by making the transition from planned, condition-based and corrective maintenance to the next generation of predictive maintenance. The traditional approach of data science and analytics will just not scale for Industry 4.0. DataRPM’s patent pending Meta-Learning engine automates data science to meet the scale of Industry 4.0, resulting in a 300% increase in prediction accuracy in 1/30th the time and resources. Our global customers are saving an average of 30% through CPdM in predicting breakdowns and failures; reducing maintenance costs, minimizing warranty claims and optimizing risk, inventory and personnel.
“I feel very privileged and honored to join the industrious DataRPM team”, said Mr. Cunitz. The Internet of Things has already set in motion a fourth industrial revolution—a new wave of technological change that is decentralizing production control and triggering a paradigm shift in manufacturing, automotive, and for that matter, practically every single industry. With 2.5 quintillion bytes of data being added every day and 6 million devices getting connected everyday, there is no way the traditional approach of Predictive Maintenance will work. DataRPM is poised to disrupt this market with their unique approach of teaching machines how to do machine learning for Predictive Maintenance.
In his most recent role as President of Hortonworks, Mr. Cunitz was responsible for growing top-line billings from practically zero to a $250m run rate in four years, while running global operations and enabling the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) to be consumable by global enterprises and a broad ecosystem of partners. Before joining Hortonworks, Mr. Cunitz was the VP of Global Field Operations for the vFabric Application Division at VMware – this was through the acquisition of SpringSource where he served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales offering open-source solutions for enterprise Java applications. Prior to SpringSource, Cunitz held various leadership positions at IBM, Vitria Technology and other hyper-growth Silicon Valley-based technology companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and a Master of Business Administration from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
