OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sprint (NYSE: S) announced the appointment of Jan Geldmacher, a veteran of European telecom companies, as President of Enterprise. Effective August 22, he will oversee business-to-business sales and business development, supporting enterprise customers with wireless communications solutions and services.
Reporting to Marcelo Claure, Sprint president and CEO, Geldmacher joins Sprint from Vodafone where he led Vodafone Global Enterprise, a business unit responsible for defining the strategy and operational execution of the company’s relationship with multinational corporate customers. He also previously served as Vodafone’s director of the Enterprise Business Unit, CEO of British Telecom Germany, and in various management and sales positions at European telecom companies.
Sprint’s network, now performing at its highest levels, is prepared to serve national business clients with many lines, devices and mobility issues. Under Geldmacher’s leadership, Sprint will begin aggressively targeting and serving enterprise companies of all sizes.
“Our network is performing better than ever, making it the ideal time to double-down on our efforts and focus on winning again in the Enterprise segment,” said Claure. “Jan’s impressive track record of driving growth and market share while integrating new technologies and launching new products makes him the perfect leader for this important business unit.”
“Sprint is a respected brand, and Enterprise is an excellent opportunity to grow the company’s market share, reduce churn and improve customer satisfaction,” said Geldmacher. “I have a great deal of experience in managing large Enterprise teams in tough markets, and I am eager to join Sprint and be a part of its turnaround.”
