PHILADELPHIA--()--Stand-up comedian and television actor Bill Engvall is the next comedic act scheduled to perform at The Event Center at SugarHouse Casino. The award-winning comic will perform two shows Friday, Sept. 16, at 7 and 10 p.m. Tickets for the performance go on sale July 25 and are priced at $79 and $59.

Engvall is famous for his “Here’s Your Sign” jokes, which are based on whimsical encounters with people who state the obvious about silly or absurd situations. He’s known for entertaining with family-friendly humor, and his television credits include “The Tonight Show, the “Late Show with David Letterman” and reaching the finale of ABC’s season 17 of “Dancing with the Stars.”

“Bill Engvall’s observations and everyday-life jokes are something we can all relate to,” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “He will be a great addition to the growing list of comedy acts we’re bringing to Philadelphia.”

Before being named Best Male Standup at the American Comedy Awards in the 1990s, Engvall became a household name when his hit album “Here’s Your Sign” earned platinum status with sales of more than one million copies. He followed that success with a key role on the “Jeff Foxworthy Show” and was part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour from 2000 to 2006 with Foxworthy, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy.

Engvall follows on the heels of Emmy® Award-winning comedic actor Eric Stonestreet, who performed at The Event Center earlier this month, as did “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah who entertained in April. Emmy® Award-winning comedian Wayne Brady will perform at the casino Oct. 8.

Tickets for Engvall’s show, and all SugarHouse performances, can be purchased online at www.sugarhousecasino.com.

In addition to live performances and concerts, the SugarHouse Casino Event Center can be reserved for a variety of other occasions, including weddings, corporate receptions, seminars, trade shows and more. The space features floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views of the Delaware riverfront and the Ben Franklin Bridge. Parking is always free.
