Fuze Selected as “Next Pillar Tech Company” at New England Venture Capital Association’s 2016 NEVY Awards

Company honored at fourth annual awards night celebrating the best and brightest from region’s technology and life science communities

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--()--Fuze (formerly ThinkingPhones), the leader in global voice, video, and collaboration, today announced that it has been recognized by the New England Venture Capital Association’s NEVY Awards as the “Next Pillar Tech Company.” This was the fourth annual event for the NEVY Awards to honor the best and the brightest in the region’s technology and life sciences startup ecosystem.

The “Next Pillar Tech Company” award celebrates Fuze as the next tech company best positioned to anchor the region’s future economic landscape and guide the way it does business.

“We are honored to be named the 2016 ‘Next Pillar Tech Company’ by the New England Venture Capital Association,” said Steve Kokinos, CEO, Fuze. “This recognition caps an extraordinary year of growth for the Company, marked by a steadfast commitment to product development and the reimagining of our offerings under a united brand, Fuze. Boston is a top city leading the digital economy, and we are committed to realizing the huge market opportunity in front of us -- making Fuze a driving force of tech innovation here in the Hub, across North America, and around the world.”

Fuze is a global, unified communications as a service (UCaaS) platform that empowers productivity and delivers insights across enterprises with mobility-enabled and analytics-driven business communications. The Company reimagines and simplifies business communications and collaboration so teams can thrive and move as fast as the world around them. ThinkingPhones acquired Fuze in November 2015 and in February 2016, it announced a new corporate brand platform officially uniting the companies under the brand of Fuze. During that time, it announced $112 million in funding in what The Boston Business Journal hailed as the number one Boston-area venture capital deal of Q1 2016.

In 2006, Steve Kokinos co-founded ThinkingPhones with CTO Derek Yoo to accomplish a simple goal: help businesses make their communications systems work for them. Ten years later, Fuze has developed and released solutions that seamlessly unify business voice, text, and conferencing services on a single, award-winning cloud platform, connect them with cloud applications, and deliver intelligent, mobile-ready apps to customers. These accomplishments have been achieved through an unyielding commitment to innovation, as well as through several strategic acquisitions.

Through the NEVY Awards, the New England Venture Capital Association brings together more than 700 venture capitalists and entrepreneurs to recognize the greatest accomplishments in New England’s private technology and healthcare companies over the past year. The NEVYs celebrate the people who are hard at work building the next generation of companies that matter.
