WorldBlu Celebrates 10th Anniversary of the WorldBlu List of Freedom-Centered Workplaces; Certifies 26 Organizations

Companies representing over 150,000 employees and $15 billion in annual revenue practice freedom at work

IOWA CITY, Iowa--()--WorldBlu®, a company specializing in freedom-centered, democratic organizational design and leadership, today announced it is has certified 26 organizations as part of the 10th annual WorldBlu List of Freedom-Centered Workplaces, published annually on “Freedom at Work” Day. Over the past ten years, WorldBlu has certified 136 organizations impacting over a million employees worldwide.

Well-known companies to make the WorldBlu List include Mindvalley, DaVita, REV Asia, New Belgium Brewery, Geonetric and The WD-40 Company. The organizations range in size from five to 65,000 employees representing over $15 billion in combined annual revenue. For-profit and non-profit organizations from across the US, Canada, UK, Mexico, Netherlands, Malaysia, Haiti, New Zealand, and Romania made the WorldBlu List from a diversity of industries including technology, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, sports, education and professional services.

“Individuals want to work in freedom-centered rather than fear-based cultures,” comments WorldBlu Founder and CEO, Traci Fenton. “WorldBlu certified freedom-centered organizations also average almost seven times higher revenue growth compared to companies on the S&P Index.”

Examples of freedom, rather than fear and control in the workplace, include Happy where employees choose their own manager; DaVita, where daily ‘Huddles’ are used to help teammates review accountabilities; and Lewes Community Football Club, a fan-owned club in the UK that gives every owner a vote in how the organization is run.

AIESEC International, the largest youth-led business organization in the world, is the only organization to have maintained their WorldBlu certification for ten consecutive years.

Organizations are eligible for the WorldBlu List of Freedom-Centered Workplaces after employees complete The WorldBlu Freedom at Work Scorecard, which evaluates their practice of the WorldBlu 10 Principles of Organizational Democracy. Organizations from the for-profit and non-profit sectors in operation for at least one full year with five or more employees can apply.
