(RJO) announced today that Robert Metzger, head of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, was recognized as a recipient of the 2016 Federal 100 Award for significant contributions to federal government IT. For more than twenty-five years, Federal Computer Week has recognized, by the Federal 100 Awards, the government, industry and academic leaders who have played pivotal roles that affect how the federal government acquires, develops and manages information technology. Most Federal 100 Award recipients come from the public sector.
Bob Metzger was recognized for his contribution to federal initiatives to improve the cyber and supply chain security practices of federal contractors. Bob has contributed thought leadership in such areas as detection and avoidance of counterfeit electronics, protection of controlled unclassified information, cyber safeguards to be adopted by government contractors, and in information technology purchasing and deployment strategies. Bob’s work has benefited the Department of Defense as well as civilian federal agencies, and builds upon years of involvement with state and local governments in efforts to enhance government by improved utilization of IT.
Bob participates on an active government advisory committee looking at cyber/supply chain security issues. He is a Vice-Chair of the Cyber/Supply Chain Assurance Committee of a leading trade association, the IT Alliance for Public Sector (ITAPS) (a unit of the Information Technology Industry Council). On cyber and supply chain security topics, Bob has an extensive record of publications and has made presentations to many government, industry, legal and technical groups.
