GYMWATCH Sensor Turns the Apple Watch into a Personal Trainer

GYMWATCH will demo its Apple Watch-compatible wearable at CES 2016

GYMWATCH debuts its Apple Watch-compatible app at CES 2016, turning the Apple Watch into a personal trainer.

DARMSTADT, Germany & LAS VEGAS--()--The GYMWATCH® Sensor, which is the first and only fitness tracker to precisely measure the full range of motion and strength expended in every exercise and with its companion app offer real-time feedback that helps users properly perform exercises, is now compatible with the Apple Watch. GYMWATCH will demo its new Apple Watch app at CES 2016 in the Sports Tech Marketplace in the Sands, Halls A-C, Booth 73264.

Strapped around a user’s arm or leg muscles (or both with two sensors), the GYMWATCH Sensor tracks strength and motion metrics in exercises that use free-weights, machines or the user’s own body weight and sends the data via Bluetooth® to the GYMWATCH App — currently on iOS and Android devices – for feedback to help the user train.

“With our new Apple Watch-compatible app, users won’t need to look on their smart phone or tablet in the gym anymore. They’ll get all the same GYMWATCH personal training feedback right from their Apple Watch,” said Fabian Walke, GYMWATCH CEO and co-founder.

Key benefits of the GYMWATCH Sensor’s new smart watch app, which also will be available for Android Wear and Pebble smart watches, are the ability to:

  • Control workouts and exercises with simple taps on the watch
  • See exercise metrics and coaching in real-time on the watch face
  • Not have to look at their smart phone or tablet during their workout.

Pricing and availability

The GYMWATCH Sensor is available to purchase at www.gymwatch.com. A single sensor is priced at $99 USD and a duo package is priced at $189 USD. The online and mobile apps are free and can also be used without using the GYMWATCH Sensor. An exact release date for the smart watch app has not yet been announced.
