Argus Dental & Vision Goes Live on Aldera Payer Platform in Just Eight Months

Automation Allows Florida-Based Dental and Vision Benefits Provider to Triple Membership and Support Capitated Payment Models without Increasing Admin Team

LISLE, Ill.--()--Aldera, a leading provider of core administration and private portal solutions for healthcare payers and administrators, today announced that Argus Dental & Vision, a dental and vision benefits administrator in Florida, completed a phased, eight-month implementation of more than 400,000 members at the end of October. The implementation included support for the originally contracted 130,000 members plus an additional 300,000 members Argus added post-contract. The ability to support a rapidly expanding membership was a key reason Argus chose the Aldera payer platform.

With the implementation, Argus has improved its auto-adjudication rate more than sixty percent, reduced the amount of time it takes to cut a provider check from hours to minutes, and can now route claims and customer service issues throughout the company automatically. Argus has also gained the ability to support capitated payment models, including managing capitated providers and rosters, processing capitated claims and generating monthly payment for capitated entities.

“Aldera’s ability to implement its payer platform on an accelerated timeline while supporting numerous payment models, including a capitated payment model, allowed us to grow our business quickly and confidently,” said Dr. Nicholas M. Kavouklis, President and CEO at Argus Dental & Vision. “We went from supporting 130,000 members through largely manual processes to exponential growth with over 600,000 members beginning January 2016. We’ve grown in the last year by 500% which can be difficult to manage without the right IT systems.”

“When Argus mentioned its aggressive implementation timeframe, we didn’t hesitate to commit to it,” said Darin LeGrange, President and CEO of Aldera. “Our internal, professional services team has time-tested its best practices and delivers on-time, on-budget implementations consistently.”

Argus provides dental and vision benefits for individuals, families, large and small employer groups, governmental agencies, large HMO Medicare/Medicaid recipients and associations across the United States. The health administrator is already working with Aldera to add another book of business on the payer platform by the end of 2015.

“We have been extremely pleased with Aldera and our ability to partner with them to drive new business,” added “Dr. Nick.” “The Aldera team conducted implementations as a true partnership and with a high level of collaboration. The implementation team was communicative, upbeat, transparent, and simply knew how to leverage its processes and technology to get the job done.”
