PlumChoice Spotlights Support for the Internet of Things at CES® 2016

Executives join Z-Wave Alliance Pavilion, will talk about monetization at CONNECTIONS™ Summit

LOWELL, Mass.--()--PlumChoice, Inc., the leader in specialized technical services for the cloud and the Internet of Things (IoT), will participate in the Z-Wave Pavilion and speak at the CONNECTIONS™ Summit hosted by Parks Associates at CES® 2016, from Jan. 6 to 9 in Las Vegas.

PlumChoice will join members of the Z-Wave Alliance, an open consortium of leading global companies deploying Z-Wave, in the Z-Wave Pavilion (booth #21000 at Tech East in the South Hall) to spotlight its recently launched ConnectedHome Expert services, which enable IoT brands to quickly go to market with seamless, specialized product support. The new offering includes pre-purchase advice, installation, configuration and on-going support for home security, home automation, home monitoring, energy savings, home entertainment and wearable technology devices.

PlumChoice’s Vice President of IoT Business Development Steve Thompson will also participate in the CONNECTIONS™ Summit panel, “Monetization Strategies for IoT and the Connected Home,” where he will discuss how support services for smart devices are critical for IoT providers’ success in acquiring and keeping customers. The session will address the challenges of integrating smart solutions with traditional home technologies, as well as new business and channel strategies for connected home solutions. It will be moderated by Tom Kerber, director of research for home controls and energy at Parks Associates, on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 9:15 a.m. PT. PlumChoice will also be attending the CONNECTIONS networking event on Jan. 6 at 5:30 p.m. PT at the Venetian Hotel.

“Despite the significant opportunities presented by innovative connected home and IoT devices, device makers are failing to help consumers integrate these products into their already complex technical environments. Our own data shows that 67 percent of consumers are struggling to use common connected ‘things,’” said Thompson. “Without the necessary pre-purchase and ongoing support enabled, thing makers are looking at a long road ahead that involves a lot of unsatisfied customers and many no-fault-found returns. We need to help people derive real value from these investments – and, in return, brands will be more successful.”
