BOSTON--()--Berkshire Group announced Thomas Rucker, Senior Vice President, Berkshire Communities, received Property Management Association’s highest achievement, the Alvin L. Sussman Award.

“Tom has personally elevated the standards and expectations for Berkshire Communities through his tireless pursuit of creating premier residential experiences for our tenants and career environments for our leasing teams,” stated Alan King, Head of Multifamily Property Operations and President of Berkshire Communities. “Having the PMA recognize Tom for his hard work and commitment to the industry truly conveys why we are so fortunate to have him as part of the Berkshire team.”

According to the PMA website, the Alvin L. Sussman Award recognizes a property manager who has made an outstanding advancement in the property management profession. Award criteria include enhancing relations between management and residents, advancing the profession by instituting a major improvement in operations, achieving a noteworthy accomplishment resulting in favorable public notice that brings acclaim to the profession, receiving public recognition for a deed or accomplishment that may not pertain to property management but reflects favorably on the individual as a property manager, or accomplishing a special achievement in the public sector. In addition to the award, PMA will make a donation in the winner’s name to his or her favorite charity.

Mr. Rucker serves as Senior Vice President for Berkshire Communities, the property management division of Berkshire Group. He is responsible for the overall property management, revenue and expense management, marketing, training, asset preservation and recruiting in markets in the Eastern United States. Mr. Rucker holds a Certified Apartment Manager designation from the National Apartment Association, and is a Certified Property Manager candidate with The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). He also holds a board at large position for the Property Management Association and is an active member of the Apartment and Office Building Association in Washington D.C., The Maryland Multi Housing Association, and the local IREM chapter.
