BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cyber security startup RedOwl has hired two senior security technology veterans: Paul Oshan to lead global sales and Peter Heim to drive expansion in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Oshan, formerly of Netskope, is a top sales leader with 20+ years of industry experience. Heim previously led sales efforts in EMEA for more than two decades, most recently for Dell Secureworks.
“I’m excited to welcome Paul and Peter to the team,” said Guy Filippelli, CEO and Founder of RedOwl. “We were fortunate to bring on leaders with proven track records as we prepare to further scale in 2016. Their unique insights and deep experience will help us meet the increasing demand for our information security and compliance platform.”
“Our advanced analytics platform -- already successfully deployed in the U.K.-- is ahead of European regulatory requirements,” added Brian White, RedOwl’s Chief Operating Officer. “Peter’s previous experience in EMEA will help us meet the demands of compliance and security teams looking for a solution to help them stay ahead of insider risk.”
The escalation of regulatory requirements and the rise of the insider threat -- compromised, negligent, and malicious users -- have forced organizations to seek new technologies to illuminate employee behavior. RedOwl holistically examines an individual’s activity and behavior across multiple modes including communications channels, devices, file and application activity, financial transactions, and physical access systems in order to provide unprecedented visibility into employee and contractor activity and proactively identify insider risk within an organization.
“The RedOwl team has built a world-class platform that leverages non-traditional data sources to improve enterprise security and oversight,” noted Oshan. “Having worked with many startups and established companies in my career, I’m looking forward to working with new clients seeking to leverage the platform to drive information security and compliance needs.”
Added Heim, “The enterprise needs to shift its attention away from the perimeter and focus on monitoring internal security threats. RedOwl mitigates insider risk for information security teams, and it provides a comprehensive compliance solution to meet and exceed new regulatory requirements.”
RedOwl is used at many major institutions across the United States and Europe. Since its inception in 2012, the company has raised $25 million from top investors including Allegis Capital and the Blackstone Group. Headquartered in Baltimore, RedOwl has offices in New York, San Francisco, and London.
