SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Center for Infectious Disease Research and AEG Live recently announced the two organizations have extended their multi-year partnership to help raise awareness for global health and infectious disease research throughout the greater Seattle community.
Through this collaboration the Center will be the official nonprofit partner of the 2016 Bumbershoot festival – a celebration of music, art and creativity – held each Labor Day weekend at Seattle Center. AEG Live will donate a portion of each ticket sold to the Center for Infectious Disease Research and encourage ticket buyers to support the organization through an additional donation at the point of sale.
Five additional benefit concerts will be held at the Showbox properties throughout 2016 to continue to raise awareness and funds for infectious disease research. Specific benefit concerts will be announced at a later date.
“We are excited to extend our partnership with AEG Live,” said Edward Jenkins, vice president of institutional advancement and chief public affairs officer at the Center for Infectious Disease Research. “Through this partnership we’re able to raise additional awareness and support for our mission of developing lifesaving treatments for the 14 million people who die each year from infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis.”
