352 Inc. Wins “Impact Project of the Year” from The Tampa Bay Technology Forum

Read Right from the Start platform from the Rollins Center for Language & Literacy named most impactful web project of the year

ATLANTA--()--Last week, 352 Inc. was named the Tampa Bay Technology Forum’s “Impact Project of the Year” award for its work with The Rollins Center for Language & Literacy and its Read Right from the Start program. The “Impact Project of the Year” category recognizes a technology project that has been developed and led by an in-house team in Tampa Bay that has created a regional, national, and/or international impact through visibility for the region, disruption within an industry, or has had a transformative impact on a global problem.

352 Inc. won for the fully immersive digital platform Read Right from the Start, developed by one of its Tampa web development teams. The program empowers Georgia educators with new teaching strategies proven to transform the lives of students through improved reading comprehension and vocabulary. The Rollins Center has committed itself to making Read Right from the Start strategies an integral part of every early childhood classroom in Georgia by 2020, and now it has the digital resources to cultivate community support for its vision. This new platform gives early childhood educators a tool they can use anywhere on any device.

“Our goal with every project is to truly meet and exceed our clients’ needs, so it is thrilling to see our teams’ hard work pay off through this meaningful recognition,” said Geoff Wilson, president of 352 Inc. “We’re honored to play a part in advancing the technology industry in the Tampa area and are pleased to be acknowledged alongside the other accomplished nominees in our category.”

Early childhood literacy is foundational to lifelong education, yet students throughout the country lack the reading skills and vocabulary necessary to reach their full potential. This problem is particularly stark in Georgia, where 65% of 3rd graders cannot read at grade level, which means many students lack the language skills to finish school, secure a job and break free of the cycle of generational poverty plaguing the state. The Rollins Center for Language & Literacy, along with its parent organization Atlanta Speech School, partners with organizations across the state of Georgia to help solve this issue.

Developed in Tampa, the Read Right from the Start program represents the impact 352’s work can have around the nation.

“We are proud of our 12th Annual Industry Achievement Awards finalists and winners,” said Daniel James Scott, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Technology Forum. “The Tampa Bay area is an incredible base of talent and companies that are working on world-class problems. These awards are evidence of the quality and breadth of their efforts.”

This year marks the 12th year the Tampa Bay Technology Forum has honored the region’s top technology organizations and individuals. The winners were announced on Friday, November 6th in Tampa Bay, Florida at the TBTF’s Industry Achievement Awards Gala. The Tampa Bay Technology Forum is the unifying voice of Tampa Bay technology, dedicated to advancing and promoting the people, projects, and points of pride shaping the region’s future.
