We are also happy to announce, in partnership with Google for Education, Aydan Meydan from Bosnia, has received The Inspiring Educator Award. This award honors the contributions of one outstanding educator who goes above and beyond to encourage their students to achieve great things. She will receive a $10,000 classroom grant from Google and a $5,000 gift card for educational products from LEGO Education.

“My teacher is a brilliant woman and not just because she is a great mathematician and is good at passing the knowledge on, but because she encourages me to think and explore,” said Ilda Ismaili, one of Meydan’s students who is a Google Science Fair finalist this year. “She tends to develop my competence and wisdom and she, in my opinion, deserves this award.”

Google was founded through experimentation and with the Google Science Fair; we hope to inspire scientific exploration among young people, celebrate scientific talent, create scientific role models and unite students around the world in the quest for learning.
