WESTBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Spectrum Health Systems announced the official opening today of the Charles J. Faris Recovery Center (Faris Recovery Center), a new 100-bed, 40,000 square-foot residential addiction treatment facility on Spectrum’s Westborough campus. The facility is named in honor of Spectrum President and CEO Charles J. Faris to recognize his 44-years of service to Spectrum and his contribution to the field of addiction treatment.
“Chuck Faris is a tireless advocate for improving access to quality, compassionate addiction treatment and helping people reach recovery,” said David Grenier, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Spectrum. “Chuck’s influence has been instrumental in building the Spectrum you see today. We are proud to be able to name the new facility in his honor.”
The Faris Recovery Center replaces an existing treatment facility on Spectrum’s campus while adding 20 additional inpatient beds. The state-of-art facility is comprised of four 25-bed stand-alone residential units in addition to family meeting rooms, a media center, fitness room, outdoor courtyard and professional-grade dining services and amenities.
“This new facility will allow us to continue Spectrum’s long established commitment to providing a comfortable, dignified environment that sets individuals on the path to sustainable, long-term recovery,” said Faris, who joined Spectrum as a counselor in 1971. “As the opiate addiction epidemic continues to impact too many lives, access to integrated, quality treatment programs is essential.”
The Faris Recovery Center joins the recently-opened New England Recovery Center, a 36-bed inpatient treatment facility tailored to commercially insured individuals, also located on Spectrum’s Westborough campus.
