PLANTATION, Fla.--()--DHL, the world’s leading logistics company, is helping deliver the world’s premier motorcycle racing championship, MotoGP™ to the U.S., at the upcoming race on August 8th at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

As Official Logistics Partner of MotoGP™, DHL offers its extensive motorsports logistics experience and know-how to the MotoGP™ World Championship over the season, spanning 18 races in 14 countries. DHL and MotoGP™ signed a three-year deal in 2015 that sees the premier motorcycle racing competition, the oldest of all motorsports world championships, team up with the global leader in express and logistics.

“We are delighted to deliver the MotoGP™ experience to race fans in the U.S.,” said Christine Nashick, Chief Customer Officer for DHL Express US. “DHL has over 30 years of experience in managing motor sports logistics, which has allowed us to develop specialized services and extensive know-how in moving racing vehicles and equipment over oceans and borders. As Official Logistics Partner of MotoGP™, we are able to offer this unrivalled experience to help the sport’s organizers focus on the race action.”

For each MotoGP™ season, more than 80 bikes and 350 tons of equipment for the teams and the championship organizers need to be transported by sea, air and road across a total distance of approximately 60,000 miles within just nine months. For the upcoming race in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Championship has travelled a distance of 4,500 miles from Sachsenring near Chemnitz, Germany. With tailored solutions for packing and handling motorsports equipment and in-depth knowledge of customs and transport regulations in all the markets where MotoGP™ operates, DHL is well positioned to support the ‘race before the race’.

DHL’s world-class portfolio of partnerships contains a number of motor racing championships and teams, including Formula 1®, Formula E, WTCC, WEC, Andretti Autosport, Audi_ABT and Kalitta Motorsports.
