Christie, Parker & Hale Partner Named "Volunteer of the Year" at 33rd Annual County of Los Angeles 2015 Volunteers of the Year Awards

GLENDALE, Calif.--()--Every year, the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors hosts an awards ceremony where they honor volunteers who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the well-being of their community. This year was the County's 33rd ceremony, which took place on Monday, April 13, and was themed, "Volunteers Make the Difference." We are proud to announce that Christie, Parker & Hale partner, Mark Garscia, was one of those volunteers honored at the event. Mr. Garscia is on the Board of Directors for the LA County Bar Association Counsel for Justice and has been providing legal assistance and aid to the victims of domestic violence for over four years. In addition, Mr. Garscia has been instrumental in encouraging others to come and assist the countless victims of domestic violence seen each year by the LACBA Domestic Violence Project. Mark Garscia is an exemplary representative of our firm and truly embodies what it means to be selfless. About Mark Garscia:

Mark Garscia has over 30 years experience in intellectual property law. He maintains a varied practice, with primary emphasis in domestic and foreign intellectual property counseling and portfolio management. In 2010, Mr. Garscia was selected as a California Top 25 IP Portfolio Manager by the Daily Journal. Mr. Garscia has obtained patents in a variety of technologies, including: spinal implants, heart valves, drug injection devices, automobile and airline seat mechanisms, power plant pumps and seals, telecommunications products, solar-powered systems, wetsuits and outerwear.

Mr. Garscia is a Director for the L.A. County Bar Association Counsel for Justice, which raises funds and distributes them to worthy legal services organizations in Los Angeles County. As well as volunteer for the Domestic Violence Project, he also has begun working with all the LACBA Veteran's Project to assist veterans with resolving legal issues that may be preventing them from gaining employment. He is also a Director for the local AYSO Board, which administers a soccer league for over 3500 children in Glendale and the surrounding area.
