DHL Global Forwarding’s Head of Customs Brokerage U.S. Appointed to Customs and Border Protection Committee

MIAMI--()--DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist within Deutsche Post DHL, announced that Cindy Allen, head of customs brokerage U.S., has been appointed to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commercial Operations Advisory Committee (COAC). As the former head of the Automated Commercial Environment Business Office at CBP, Allen is one of a dozen industry members chosen by the Department of Homeland Security to be part of the prestigious committee’s 14th term.

“I am very excited to have been one of the industry members chosen to fill the position,” said Allen. “In my current role as Head of Customs Brokerage for DHL Global Forwarding, U.S., I have a broad view of the current issues and I plan during my two year term to use my knowledge and industry experience to serve as a trusted adviser to the Customs and Border Protection agency and make a difference in the industry.”

The COAC is in charge of advising the Secretaries of the Department of Treasury and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on commercial operations regarding Customs and Border Protection and related DHS and Treasury functions. Some examples of issues considered by members of the COAC include: global supply chain security and facilitations; customs broker regulations; trade enforcement; agricultural inspections; and protection of intellectual property rights, among others.

Allen is currently responsible for DHL Global Forwarding’s Customs Brokerage product for the U.S., including brokerage operations, compliance, consulting, and customized import and export solutions. With more than 25 years of experience in the brokerage industry, she is a key player in driving business growth and facilitating business customers with the clearance solutions that best fit their individual needs.
