Revitalization status from the Great East Japan Earthquake updated in real-time
It has been 4 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake struck on
March 11, 2011. Fukushima's revitalization efforts are steadily
progressing, owing not only to domestic support, but also to the
generous support of people from around the globe.
In order to share
information with as many people as possible on the status of
revitalization efforts in Fukushima, a portal site with up-to-date
revitalization information, "Fukushima Revita station," was launched on
the concept of sharing information in a friendly and easy-to-understand
manner.
Information on the portal site is organized into 10 categories, geared towards most people's interests, and progress is updated in real time using pictures, video, and other tools. Categories include, (1) Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant status; (2) Radiation and decontamination; (3) Evacuation zone status and victim support; (4) Life and health of residents; (5) Radioactive testing of food and water; (6) Infrastructure restoration and maintenance; (7) Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; (8) Commerce and industry/Tourism; (9) New industries; (10) Support Fukushima.
Information is provided in seven languages with emphasis on those used in Asia, the US, and Europe
In order to promote sharing Fukushima's current conditions globally,
Fukushima Revita station has incorporated automatic translation
capabilities in seven languages, including English, Chinese, Korean, and
others.
