BAAR, Switzerland & LONDON--()--meetinvest, a new and free financial social media platform that replicates the successful formula of investment legends such as Buffett, Templeton, Slater, etc. for retail investors, today announces its key investment strategies in a portfolio reveal of £1 million, accessible on its homepage.

Swiss based husband and wife founders and entrepreneurs Maria and Michel Jacquemai have invested £1 million of their own savings into several Guru portfolios to demonstrate the strength of their investment platform and their personal belief in it.

These portfolios illustrate the feasibility of meetinvest’s stock picking tools and its unique offer to retail investors, providing transparency on current performance whilst illustrating its free, intuitive and easy to use functionality.

Since its launch on Feb 9th, 2015, the UK-only All-Guru portfolio has gained almost + 2.8 % outperforming the comparable equity index FTSE-100, which realized only + 1.1% during the same period. The current undervalued holdings are well-established multinational companies such as Rolls Royce and Associated British Foods, next to smaller ones like Inchcape, Hiscox and Meggitt. Apart from the UK-Guru portfolio, the founders have also invested their own money into four other portfolios consisting of the most undervalued stocks in continental Europe and the US.

The meetinvest platform screens 68,000 stocks every day with performance back-tested to January 2000 that replicates the successful investment strategies of gurus such as Warren Buffett or Sir John Templeton, enabling users to adopt their strategies. Also there are some 800 bespoke investment topics covering arts, coins, stamps, classic cars, and from watches to wine, alongside more everyday stock pick ideas.

Commenting on the development, Michel Jacquemai, who has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry including asset management, hedge funds and banking, said: “Using meetinvest is like having an all-star team of the best stock analysts worldwide with some of the smartest investment approaches at your disposal – for free. By disclosing our positions and holdings on our new landing page, everyone and anyone can monitor and mirror our portfolio, ultimately testing the credibility of our model.”

Maria Jacquemai added: “Explaining financial strategies doesn’t have to be complicated but our research shows that 45% of adults in the UK find stock market information “confusing”. We offer free access to technology which democratises the process and enables individuals to learn how to invest in the stock market much more easily.

Notes to editors

meetinvest, founded in August 2014 by two Swiss-based entrepreneurs, removes the barriers to investing, including complicated financial jargon and a general lack of know-how that retail investors often face, through simplification.

meetinvest simplifies the investment strategies of global investment gurus, including Buffett, Graham, O’Neil and Templeton, and identifies the stocks that match their strategy’s criteria – by distilling the strategies into simplified language and through the identification of stocks, meetinvest’s members are able to invest like professionals, for free. As part of this process, the platform tracks 68,000 stocks daily, screening 128 countries and 238 exchanges worldwide.

There are some 800 bespoke investment topics covering everything from arts and coins to watches, wine, stamps and classic cars, alongside more everyday stock picks ideas such as real estate.

meetinvest’s team of financial analysts and programmers have developed algorithms for these strategies that not only illustrate in back-testing to January 2000 the hypothetical past performances of them, but also shows users going forward which stocks meet the strategy’s criteria on a daily basis.
