Sorteo Games, Inc. Announces Pronósticos International Tender for Lottery Systems and Terminals Still under Investigation in Mexico for Alleged Irregularities Committed by the RFP Public Officials and GTECH Representatives

SAN DIEGO--()--Sorteo Games, Inc., a leading provider of electronic lottery systems and services, is one of the three qualified bidders who competed in the International Public Tender in Mexico to upgrade and operate the lottery systems and terminals for Pronósticos para la Asistencia Pública (Pronósticos) in Mexico. The new contract was scheduled to be awarded in May 2014 with a minimum term of six years and new systems to launch October 16, 2014.

On December 29th, 2014, GTECH Corporation released a public announcement stating the Company has executed a new six year contract with Pronósticos Deportivos in Mexico valued at $130M USD. However, the Pronósticos Administration in Mexico has not announced the execution of the new contract and has not published it in the official government portal as required by federal law.

As part of the RFP process and developments, Sorteo entered into an exclusive lottery systems technology agreement with Intralot. The agreement was centered on providing the latest digital point-of-sale terminals for all Pronósticos lottery and sports betting products to fully modernize the existing network spanning 10,000 retail outlets.

Sorteo won the initial segment of the tender on April 28, 2014 by securing the maximum points for its submission of the best commercial offer. GTECH won the second segment of the tender under protest by both Sorteo and Win. Sorteo and Win filed judicial protests based on alleged irregularities committed by GTECH and the RFP officials on April 28, 2014.

Sorteo has also filed a lawsuit against GTECH alleging that GTECH committed irregularities in the public tender and conspired with the RFP Public Officials to illegally secure the new contract. The California State Superior Court has set a court date for a jury trial in the case for October 2015.

Nour-Dean Anakar, CEO and Founder of Sorteo Games Inc., said: “We complied with every requirement of the law and the RFP conditions. Sorteo is clearly the bidder who submitted the best economic offer as well as a totally valid technical proposal consisting of state of the art lottery systems and digital terminals to Pronósticos.”
