SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SRS|Acquiom is pleased to announce two new Directors of Business Development, Charles Baker and Roy Marmelo, who will support clients in the Midwest and the New York metropolitan area, respectively. Each has more than 15 years experience in M&A, debt & equity securities, and corporate and international banking. SRS|Acquiom is well-known as the global leader in shareholder representation for private company M&A. The addition of Charles’ and Roy’s expertise will address accelerating customer demand for those services and the rapid growth of the company’s M&A escrow and payments business.
Since announcing Enhanced Escrow solutions from SunTrust Bank and Capital One Bank, and the introduction of Acquiom Clearinghouse™, the industry’s first online M&A payments administration platform, demand for these services has grown dramatically. “We simply need more seasoned representatives in the field,” said Alex Tsarnas, SRS|Acquiom Managing Director, Global Business Development. “M&A merger parties and their attorneys quickly recognize the game-changing nature of what SRS|Acquiom offers: streamlined process, fast payments, higher yields, no hassle, and the opportunity to work with M&A experts. And of course, we remain the global leader in shareholder representation, with more than 700 deals and growing every day.”
Based in Chicago, Charles Baker represents SRS|Acquiom in the Midwest. Most recently, Charles was Vice President, Business Development at BNY Mellon where he assisted corporate, insurance, and private equity clients, along with their attorneys and investment banking partners with capital markets transactions, including M&A transactions, escrows, paying agency, collateral and trustee services. Charles holds degrees from Florida State University and DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
Roy Marmelo is based in New York and covers the New York Metropolitan area. Prior to joining SRS|Acquiom, he was a Regional Director at Citibank's Institutional Clients Group-Capital Markets Division, responsible for sales and client management positions providing capital markets services for debt & equity issuers globally. Earlier in Roy’s career, he spent nine years with JPMorgan’s Treasury & Securities Services Division supporting institutional investors, issuers and intermediaries. Roy graduated from Northeastern University.
“That SRS|Acquiom continues to attract top talent demonstrates the power of our business model,” said Mark Vogel, co-CEO. “Our new and prospective team members understand first-hand the hassles experienced by merger parties in M&A transactions, and see how we are improving that process through continuous innovation and superior customer service. To cite just one example, Acquiom|Clearinghouse eliminates tedious administrative requirements and takes just minutes to do what once took days. Response from our clients is overwhelmingly positive.”
Charles and Roy are the most recent additions to the expert team being assembled by Alex Tsarnas. Alex joined SRS|Acquiom in September, 2014, after spending more than 16 years at BNY Mellon where he was Managing Director responsible for corporate, insurance and financial institution relationships within the corporate trust business. Alex helped build new businesses for the bank across the globe, acquiring a unique combination of global acumen, product experience and industry knowledge from positions in New York, London and Tokyo.
