FLINT, Mich.--()--Chad M. Grant, FACHE, has been appointed president and CEO of McLaren Oakland, a subsidiary of McLaren Health Care. He will begin this position on Dec. 15, 2014.

“Chad Grant is a dynamic and forward-looking health care professional with the skill set necessary to lead McLaren Oakland,” said Judge Leo Bowman, chairman for the McLaren Oakland board of directors. “We are fortunate to have him join the McLaren team and enthusiastically anticipate his contributions. The entire board wishes to welcome Chad and his family to McLaren Oakland.”

Grant succeeds Clarence Sevillian, who was recently promoted to president and CEO of McLaren Bay Region.

“Clarence Sevillian has done an outstanding job steering McLaren Oakland’s growth while positioning the medical center for continued success,” said Bowman. “Although he will be missed at McLaren Oakland, we are pleased his talents will remain within the system at McLaren Bay Region.”

Grant will be responsible for the overall administrative operations of McLaren Oakland, including implementing and overseeing critical strategic initiatives.

“Chad Grant brings extensive health care leadership experience to McLaren, including executive oversight at the corporate level and of specialty hospital organizations, strategic planning, joint venture development, and change management,” said Mark O’Halla, executive vice president/chief operating officer of McLaren Health Care. “He will be a strong asset to our leadership team as we continue to grow and expand.”

“McLaren’s high level of integration and its value-based growth strategies are two of the factors that attracted me to the system,” said Grant. “I’m looking forward to building on McLaren Oakland’s past successes and developing additional access points for care within the Pontiac community.”

Grant started his health care career at Detroit Medical Center (DMC) in 1995. He most recently served as chief operating officer at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Prior, he was the vice president for several service areas at DMC, including the cardiovascular institute, cardiovascular services, professional services and imaging services. He was also an administrative director of ancillary services, including radiology, respiratory therapy, neurology, electroneurodiagnostics and a pediatric sleep disorders laboratory. In his early career, Grant worked as a technologist in PET, MRI and nuclear medicine.

Grant was named to the Crain’s Detroit Business 40 under 40 2011 class. He serves on the Midwest Chapter of American College of Healthcare Executives board of directors.

A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, Grant, 40, earned a master’s degree in health services administration at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in nuclear medicine from Siena Heights University. He currently resides in Saline but will be relocating to northern Oakland County.
