ST. PAUL, Minn. & NEW YORK--()--Merrill Corporation (www.merrillcorp.com), a leading global provider of technology-enabled services for the financial, legal, health care and other corporate markets, has launched Early Language Assessment, a new eDiscovery service, based on proprietary technology developed by Merrill.

Merrill’s innovative new Early Language Assessment service takes the surprise out of finding foreign language documents at inopportune moments during the eDiscovery process, which present the potential of disrupting the document review process and threatening the ability to comply with non-negotiable production deadlines.

Early Language Assessment is a powerful new integration tool for Merrill’s customers using Relativity® and is powered by industry leading, proprietary language identification technology from Merrill Corporation’s world-renowned language solutions provider Merrill Brink® International. This automated service scans every document as it’s loaded into Relativity in real time. Foreign language content is immediately identified and a precise language analysis, with percentage breakdowns, is delivered proactively – providing customers with the critical information they need up front. Subsequent language services such as translation or bi-lingual attorney review are immediately available to the case team.

“This innovative new service fills a huge gap in the eDiscovery market,” said Brian Castro, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of eDiscovery at Merrill Corporation. “Our propriety software, combined with the eDiscovery and Translations expertise of our client service teams, will save our clients enormous amounts of time and money by empowering them with the information they need at the start to make important decisions. This especially holds true for many of our larger clients engaged in cross border litigation.”

“The best part is, it’s a value-added service provided to all of Merrill’s customers using Relativity at no extra cost and requiring no action on their part,” Castro added.

“By combining the strengths of our eDiscovery and Merrill Brink Translation services, we are striving to deliver an unmatchable level of quality and service for Merrill’s clients,” said Jim Moore, Executive Vice President of Merrill Brink.

Early Language Assessment is available now for Merrill’s customers using Relativity in the United States and Canada and will be deployed to Merrill’s international data center supporting Relativity and made available to clients in Europe and Asia this December.
